City of Bristol (formerly Bristol Central S.C.) have a proud history in Water polo, Synchronised swimming and Speed swimming. We had 2 Team GB representatives at the London 2012 Olympics (Katie Dawkins in  Synchro & Craig Figes in water polo). Our water polo team and Synchro teams have been British and English Champions on numerous occasions in recent years. We have produced many junior and senior international athletes. For further information on either speed swimming or Synchronised swimming please contact and we will forward on your enquiry.

City of Bristol Junior Development

City of Bristol Water Polo pride themselves on having the best volunteer coaching team in the country. All staff are fully DBS checked and qualified. Many of the coaches and organisers you will see on the poolside have had representative honors.

Students welcome!

University of the West of England

Many of our players come to City of Bristol Water Polo through UWE. CoB Harlequins have forged a strong link with UWE over the last few years and City of Bristol Water Polo is now an official affiliate club.

UWE have had considerable success (and a lot of fun) over the last couple of seasons. If you are a UWE student and want to give it a try, do get in contact.

Ladies Section

City of Bristol Ladies

City of Bristol run one ladies team. This section of the club is growing really well with many Juniors coming through the ranks. If you are at UWE, we have special terms for you. If you are new to Bristol and want to get involved, we would really like to hear from you.

Do you want to get back into the swing of things?

CoB Harlequins

Harlequins Water Polo Club was established in 1994 and then merged with City of Bristol in 2017. CoB Harlequins are the social team and probably the best place to start if you are student, new to Bristol or just want to get back into Water Polo again. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to hearing from you.

City of Bristol 1st Team

Hard work, dedication and a bit of fun as well

City of Bristol first team squad represent the elite water polo in the area. They have had considerable success over the last 20 years having won the British Championship 6 times.

After a very difficult season, CoB 1st now find themselves in division 2 of the Bristish Water Polo League . Hopefully, a return to division one will not take too long through the development of our young talent.

If you want to develop to the highest level, there is not many places better in the UK than joining up with this squad. There is an extremely experienced coaching setup managed by Craig Figes. The coaching program is challenging and CoB offer a lot of support for individual player development.
